Duties and responsibilities : Most health
information management specialists focus on patient security or privacy, coding
or records administration. Many professionals are employed by hospitals, where
they work with patient care data and ensure proper insurance payment
reimbursement, the accuracy of data for public health records and the security
of patients' electronic health records information.

Salary: $30,000 and $42,000
a year, depending upon which state you live in.

Education:
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) maintains that a bachelor's degree in
a computer-related field is the most common requirement for becoming an IT
specialist. Relevant majors include
computer science, information systems and software engineering.

Reflection: do you think you would like to be
one? I wouldn’t mind being a Health
Information Specialist because it is using computers and organizing schedules and
I’m very good at both. Also, I think
that being a health information specialist might give you a knock in the head
but I would manage because you need patients and I have a lot of that. I also
understand that you have to keep patients information and I would do so. Thins job
looks interesting and pays good.
